Kathmandu, Nepal, May 7, 2021: Nepal has on Friday breaks at another record in coronavirus infection toll in a single day. With the 9,196 new infection cases reported in the past 24 hours, coronavirus infection tally of Nepal has advanced to 377,603.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), of the total new infection cases reported from across the country, Kathmandu valley alone reported 4106 cases in the past 24 hours. In Kathmandu, 3,089 new infection cases were reported while 643 in Lalitpur and 374 in Bhaktapur, the MoHP has stated.
Likewise, Nepal has on Friday reported 50 more deaths related to the coronavirus infection from across the country. With the addition, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus has advanced to 3,579.
According to the MoHP, 20,482 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. Of the total tests, 19,987 tests were conducted through PCR methods while 495 were conducted antigen methods.
Likewise, 2,905 people, who were earlier infected with the virus, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. With the addition, recovery tally of the country has advanced to 295,395.
There are currently 78,629 active cases across the country. Of them only 380 individuals are staying in quarantine facilities.
