Kathmandu, Nepal, August 8, 2022: Nepal records 934 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) infections from across the country in the past 24 hours on Monday. With the addition, coronavirus infection tally of the country has advanced to 990,625.
Meanwhile, 470 people, who had got infected earlier with the virus, have been discharged after getting recovery in the past 24 hours. With the addition, nationwide recovery tally has advanced to 972,967.
Likewise, one more death related to the coronavirus infection has been recorded in the past 24 hours. With the addition, nationwide mortality tally has advanced to 11,972.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 934 new cases were recorded while conducting tests of 5,351 swab samples in the past 24 hours. Of them, 498 out of 2,862 PCR tests and 436 out of 2,489 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the COVID-19, the MoHP has stated.
With the updates, there are currently 5,736 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 5,509 are in self-isolation, 177 in institutional isolation, 47 in ICUs beds and three on ventilators’ support, states the MoHP.
Likewise, the MoHP has also stated that 64 new infections were reported in Province 1, 17 in Madhes Province, 330 in Bagmati province, 26 in Gandaki province, 30 in Lumbini province, two in Karnali province and 29 in Sudurpaschim province.
