Kathmandu, Nepal: Nepal has made another historical achievement in the field of football by clinching the title of AFC Solidarity Cup after two decades defeating Macau 1-0 in the final match.
Midfielder Sujal Shrestha scored the goal in the 29th minute to hand Nepal their maiden triumph in an AFC-organized event held in Kuching of Malaysia on Tuesday.
With the winning Nepal is crowned the champion of the Asian level football tournament for the first time in its history though Nepal has already secured two international titles in a year.
Earlier Nepal had claimed the Bangabandhu Gold Cup in January in Bangladesh. Likewise, another title was in the 12th South Asian Games by winning gold in February in India.
With the winning, Nepal government has decided to provide 3 lakh each to the member of the team.
