Kathmandu, Nepal, October 12, 2020: Nepal’s coronavirus (COVID-19) infection tally reached to 111,802 after 4,047 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours. Among the newly infected patients, 2,283 were from Kathmandu valley alone.
According to Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 4,047 new cases were detected while conducting 14,530 real time Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests at various labs across the country in the past 24 hours.
Likewise, 1,473 people, who were infected earlier for the virus, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. With the addition, total number of recoveries reached to 77, 277 in Nepal.
During the virtual press briefing, spokesperson Gautam also informed that nine fatalities related to the coronavirus have been recorded in the past 24 hours. With the new addition, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus has reached to 645.
There are 33,880 active cases across the country.
