Kathmandu, Nepal, September 26, 2020: Nepal’s coroavirus tally reached to 73,394 after 1573 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours. Of them 809 new cases were from Kathmandu valley alone.
Recent infection cases of coronavirus have been indicating that Kathmandu valley, particularly the Kathmandu district, would become a largely affected district from the virus.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 633 new cases were recorded in Kathmandu while 104 in Lalitpur and 72 in Bhaktapur district.
Likewise, Kathmandu also recorded five fatalities out of 10 linked with the coronavirus on Sunday. With the new addition, total number of death due to the infection of coronavirus reached to 477.
Spokesperson for the MoHP Dr. Jageshowr Gautam said during a regular virtual press briefing that 885 people, who had earlier contracted coronavirus positive, have returned home after they tested negative of the virus. So far, 53,898 people have recovered from the disease in the country.
As of Sunday, there are 19,019 active cases of infection in the country while 6,281 people are under quarantine, spokesperson Gautam said during the press briefing.
