Kathmandu, Nepal, October 03, 2020: Nepal’s coronavirus (COVID-19) infection tally reached to 84,570 after 2,120 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours.
Dr Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), informed through the regular virtual press briefing on Saturday that 2,120 new cases were detected while conducting 12,978 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests across the country in the past 24 hours.
With the new updates, there are currently 21,302 active cases across the country. Of them, 9,773 people have been staying in institutional isolation while 11,529 people are in home isolation, said spokesperson Gautam during the press briefing.
Likewise, 2,044 people, who had earlier tested positive for the virus, have been discharged after recovery. With the addition, total recovery cases have reached to 62,740 in Nepal.
Similarly, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus reached to 528 after eight deaths reported in the past 24 hours.
