Kathmandu, Nepal, January 22, 2022: Nepal records 8,212 new cases of coronavirus infections from across the country in the past 24 hours on Saturday. With the addition, nationwide infection tally has advanced to 904,796. 

Meanwhile, 708 people, who had infected earlier with the virus, have been discharged after getting recovered. With the addition, recovery tally has advanced to 820,283.

Likewise, 26 more deaths related to the coronavirus infections have been recorded in the past 24 hours. With the addition, deaths tally has advanced to 11,651.

With the new updates, Nepal’s active Covid-19 caseload has climbed to 72,862. Of the total active cases, only 149 individuals are staying in institutional quarantine facilities.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), a total of 20,187 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. Of the total tests, 14,462 were PCR tests while 5,725 were antigen tests.
