Kathmandu, February 28, 2022: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has closed at 2,610.58 points losing 43.12 points or 1.62 percent from Sunday's closing on Monday. In the first trading day of the week on Sunday, the NEPSE index had also lost 7.73 points.

The index that was opened at 2,662.26 points made the intraday high at 2,683.46 points while intraday low  as low as 2,606.97 points before closing at 2,610.58 points. Though the NEPSE had gained at the beginning, selling pressure led to lose at the late hours. 

A total of 7,834,915 shares of 227 scrips were traded via 54,121 transactions making Rs. 3.66 Arba turnover amount. The turnover amount is quite high than yesterday’s turnover amount. 

Api Power Company Ltd. (API) made the highest turnover of Rs. 16.09 crores and closing at a market price of Rs. 498.90 per share while the shares of National Hydro Power Company Limited (NHPC) traded the most on Monday.

Likewise, 11 percent NIC Asia Debenture 082/83 (NICAD8283) gained the highest 2 percent and closed at Rs. 1,020 while the Terhathum Power Company Limited (TPC) and Samling Power Company Limited (SPC) lost with 10 percent negative circuit breaker.
