Kathmandu, Nepal, August 22, 2022: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) has slightly declined by 0.36 percent or 7.41 points to close at 2,053.13 points on Monday.
This is the second consecutive decline in the secondary market of the NEPSE. Earlier on Sunday, the first trading day of the week, the NEPSE had plunged by 7.72 points.
The NEPSE index that was opened at 2,060.55 points made intraday high at 2,065.21 points and intraday low as 2,044.40 points before closing at 2053.13 points.
A total of 5,230,763 shares were traded via 31,795 transactions to make a turnover amount to Rs. 1.72 Arba. This is significantly lower than last trading day's turnover of Rs. 2.047 Arba.
Himal Dolakha Hydropower Company Limited (HDHPC) made the highest turnover of Rs. 28.1 crores with market price of Rs. 235 per share while the shares of Swet-Ganga Hydropower & Construction Limited (SGHC) traded the most.
Upper Hewakhola Hydropower Company Limited (UHEWA) gained the highest 10 percent and hit positive circuit for the day while the NIBL Samriddhi Fund 2 (NIBSF2) lost the highest by 6.75 percent.
Out of total 13 sector indices only the Mutual Fund sector indices remain green while other remaining 12 sector indices remain red. Hotel and Tourism Sector’ indices lost the highest by 1.05 percent.
