Kathmandu, Nepal, July 11, 2022: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has declined by of 3.86 percent on Monday. The NEPSE index has closed at 1,915.61 points after losing 77.01 points from last trading day's closing. 

In the last trading day on Friday, the NEPSE index had also declined by 34.70 points. The statement made by Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari is believed as the sole reason behind the massive decline of share market on Monday.

Notwithstanding the sensitivity of the share market as well as the demand of the investors, governor Adhikari had stated at a public function on Monday morning that the interest rates of Bank and other banking institutions would be increased. 

He had also stated at the same function that he would not make comment over the cap labeled by the Nepal Rastra Bank over the margin lending. 
 
The NEPSE index that was opened at 1993.55 points did not made intraday high points than the opening points. It had made intraday day low point at 1,913.19 before closing at 1,915.61 points.

A total of 6,313,641 shares were exchanged via 45,196 transactions to make Rs. 2.325 Arba as the turnover amount. This is higher than last day’s turnover amount. Friday’s turnover amount was Rs. 1.168 Arba only.

Himalayan Distillery Limited (HDL) made the highest turnover of Rs. 11.04 crores and closed the market price of Rs. 3,255 per share while the shares of Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Ltd (UPPER) traded the most.

Similarly, 8.5 percent Sanima Debenture 2087 (SBD87) gained the highest by 2 percent while the Grameen Bikas Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. (GBLBS) lost by 10 percent.

All the 13 sector indices closed red. Trading sector indices lost the highest by 5.78 percent while Hotels And Tourism sector indices lost the least by 2.18 percent.
