Kathmandu, Nepal, February 6, 2023: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index gained just 0.22 percent or 4.57 points on Monday. With the gaining, the NEPSE index has closed at 2,100.65 points.
The NESE index opened at 2,096.32 points made intraday low at 2,087.20 points and intraday high at 2,102.70 points before ultimately closing at 2,100.65 points on Monday. The NEPSE index had gained just 1.54 points on Sunday, the first trading day of the week as well.
A total of 3,922,216 shares of 259 scrips were exchanged via 29,846 transactions to make a turnover amount to Rs. 1.474 Arba. Monday’s turnover amount is lower than the last trading day's turnover of Rs. 1.931 Arba.
NIC Asia Bank Ltd. (NICA) made the highest turnover of Rs. 6.45 crores and close at a market price of Rs. 828 per share while the shares of Universal Power Company Limited (UPCL) traded the most.
Likewise, Adarsha Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (ADLB) gained the highest by 10 percent and hit the positive circuit. While the Laxmi Bank Debenture 2088 (LBLD88) lost the highest 9.58 percent.
Of the total 13 sector indices, only five sector indices closed red while others closed green. Life Insurance sector indices lost the highest by 0.82 percent while Manufacturing and processing sector indices gained the highest 1.38 percent.
