Kathmandu, Neppal, August 8, 2022: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has declined by 17.67 points, which is 0.83 in percent, and closed at 2,106.16 points on Monday. In the first trading day of the week on Sunday, the NEPSE index had gained by 10.27 points.
The NEPSE index opened at 2,128.19 points made intraday high points at 2,140.26 and intraday low points at 2,102.25 before closing at 2,106.16 points. Selling pressure was witnessed at the end.
A total of 6,527,414 shares amounting to Rs. 2.857 Arba in the turnover amount were traded on the day. This is slightly higher than Sunday’s turnover amount. Sunday’s turnover amount was Rs. 2.673 Arba.
Shivam Cement Ltd (SHIVAM) made the highest turnover of Rs. 20.71 crores while the shares of National Hydro Power Company Limited (NHPC) traded the most.
Meanwhile, Himalayan Hydropower Limited (HHL) and Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (GLBSL) gained highest 10 percent each and hit positive circuit while the Janaki Finance Company Limited (JFL) lost the highest by 4.31 percent.
Out of the total 13 sector indices, 11 sectors indices closed red while only two sectors indics closed green. The ‘others’ sector indices lost the highest by 2.42 percent while the ‘mutual fund’ sector indices gained the highest by 0.27 percent.
