Kathmnadu, Nepal, April 4, 2022:The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), country’s sole secondary stock exchange market, has continued the downward trend even in the second trading day of the week on Monday. 

The NEPSE index has closed at 2,498.53 points by losing 14.88 points from yesterday's closing on Monday. In the first trading day of the week on Sunday, the index had also lost by 30.89 points. Sunday’s turnover amount was also just Rs 1.46 billion.

Since the NEPSE index closed below the 2,500 points mark and the daily turnover amount also stood at Rs 1.58 billion on Monday, the investors seem to have panic as they have lost confidence in the share market. 

The index opened at 2,517.41 points had made the intraday high at 2,525.24 points while intraday low as 2,497.48 points before closing at 2,498.53 pints. A total of 3,429,917 shares were exchanged via 31,567 transactions. 

Emerging Nepal Limited (ENL) made the highest turnover of Rs. 6.39 crores with market price of Rs. 1,470 per share. The units of Sanima Equity Fund (SAEF) were traded the most. Citizen Mutual Fund 2 (CMF2) lost the highest 5.66 percent.

Just two scrips technically gained 10 percent and hit the positive circuit breaker on Monday. All the 13 sectors indices closed red. Among all the sectors, Non-Life Insurance sector lost the highest by 1.66 percent.
