Kathmandu, Nepal, April 10, 2014: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index closed at 1,844.02 points on Monday after gaining 5.54 points or 0.30 percent from the last trading day's closing. This NEPSE index had lost by 28.31 points on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.
The NEPSE index that opened at 1,837.65 points made intraday low at 1,833.08 points and intraday high at 1,851.49 points before ultimately closing at 1,844.02 points.
A total of 2,960,863 shares of 261 scrips were traded amounting to Rs. 91.19 Crores in turnover amount via 35,549 transactions. Monday’s turnover is lower than the last trading day's turnover of Rs. 1.159 Arba.
Shivam Cements Ltd (SHIVM) made the highest turnover of Rs. 6.84 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 392 per share.
The shares of Sanima Middle Tamor Hydropower Limited (TAMOR) traded the most and gained the highest 10 percent followed by Kalinchowk Darshan Limited (KDL) with 9.97 percent.
In the other hand, Global IME Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. (GILB) lost the highest by 6.54 percent.
Of the total, 13 sector indices, only one the finance sector indices closed red losing by 0.11 percent while other remaining 12 sector indices closed green, Hotel and Tourism sector indices gained the highest by 1.71 percent.
