Kathmandu, Nepal, November 29, 2021: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index lost 21.48 points and closed at 2,630.01 points on Monday. The NEPSE index had lost 80.29 points in the first trading day of the week on Sunday as well.
The NEPSE index opened at 2,650.54 points made the intraday low at 2,622.32 points and intraday high as 2,677.63 points before closing at 2,630.01 points. Though the NEPSE had remained green in the first hours, it had begun to decrease from the second hours due to the huge selling pressure.
A total of 8,225,822 shares, amounting to Rs. 4.008 Arba in the turnover amount, were traded during the four hours long trading hours on Monday. Monday’s turnover amount is about two Arba lower than Sunday's turnover amount. The turnover amount of Sunday was Rs. 5.835 Arba.
The shares of the Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank Limited (MLBL) traded the most and made the highest turnover of Rs. 61.04 crores. The per unit share price of MMLBL is Rs. 617.40.
Nyadi Hydropower Company Limited (NYADI) and Samling Power Company Limited (SPC) hit 10 percent positive circuit breaker while ICFC Finance Limited (ICFC) hit 10 percent negative circuit breaker.
Of the total, 13 sectors listed in the NEPSE, only two sectors- hydropower and mutual fund- remained green while others remained red. Hotels and tourism sector lost the most 2.25 percent.
