Kathmandu, Nepal, July 4, 2022: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has lost by 0.47 percent on Monday, the second trading day of the week. 


The NEPSE index has closed at 2,076.67 points after losing 9.75 points from Sunday’s closing. The NEPSE index had gained by 57.61 points on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.

The NEPSE index opened at 2095.62 points made an intraday high at 2,148.61 points and intraday day low at 2,059 points before closing at 2,076.67 points. About 90 points of volatility was seen in the Monday’s market. Selling pressure was seen in the last hour after short term investors rushed to book the profit.  

A total of 10,981,591 shares were exchanged via 75,790 transactions amounting to Rs. 4.349 Arba in the turnover amount. This is the highest transaction since 27th March 2022.

Shivam Cements Ltd (SHIVM) made the highest turnover of Rs. 17.58 crores with Rs. 826 per share while the shares of Sanima Equity Fund (SAEF) traded the most on Monday.

CYC Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (CYCL) and Ngadi Group Power Ltd. (NGPL) gained highest 10 percent each and hit a positive circuit while the Global IME Bank Limited Debenture 2086/87 (GBILD86/87) lost the highest by 9.75percent.

Out of the total sector indices, nine remained red while four sector indices closed green. The Trading sector indices gained the highest by 6.82 percent while Mutual Fund sector indices  lost the most by 1.85 percent.
