Kathmandu, Nepal, July 25, 2022: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has surged by 54.45 points, which is 2.62 in percent, and closed at 2,132.96 points on Monday.
The NEPSE index had surged by 61.05 points on Sunday, the first trading day of the week. The NEPSE has gained by 115 points just in the two days of transactions of this week.
The investors of the secondary share market seem to have taken positively to the monetary policy presented by the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the central bank of Nepal, on last Friday.
The NEPSE index that was opened at 2,081.65 points never made low than the opening range but made intraday high at 2,134.62 points before closing at 2,132.96 points.
A total of 9,944,048 shares amounting to Rs. 4.106 Arba in the turnover amount were traded during the four hour long trading hours.
The turnover amount of Monday is about fifty percent higher than the previous day’s trading amount. Sunday’s turnover amount was Rs. 2.730 Arba.
SHIVAM CEMENTS LTD (SHIVM) made the highest turnover of Rs. 15.29 crores and closed at a market price of Rs. 838 per share while the shares of Api Power Company Ltd. (API) traded the most on Monday.
Manjushree Finance Limited Debenture 2085 (MFLD85) lost the highest by 5.87 percent while the Balephi Hydropower Limited was the topmost gainer in terms of a rise in its share price.
All the 13 sector indices closed green. Finance sector indices gained the highest by 7.9 percent while Mutual Fund sector indices gained the least by 0.68 percent.
