Earthquake of magnitude 6.2 hit western Nepal

Kathmandu, Nepal, October 03, 2023:  An earthquake of magnitude 6.2 hit western Nepal on Tuesday afternoon. Rounds of quakes have been felt before and after the earthquake that occurred at 3:06 PM.

According to the National Earthquake Monitoring Center, the first earthquake occurred first at 2:40 PM at Palkot in Bajhang with a magnitude of 5.3. Then after, an earthquake of 6.3 magnitudes occurred with its epicenter near Chairpur in Bajhang at 3:06 PM. 

The intensity earthquakes have left behind a trail of massive destruction bringing back horrifying flashbacks of the 7.8-magnitude quake occurred in 2015.

It has been reported that several buildings in the western Nepal, particularly in the Bajhang district, have suffered damages. 

Those no casualties is reported yet, people have suffered due to the collapse of the houses. The tremor was felt in several districts including in Kathmandu valley.
