KATHMANDU: Visiting Japanese State Minister for Foreign Affairs Nobuo Kishi on Wednesday morning paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dhal.
 
During the meeting, the duo discussed Japanese support to various development projects in Nepal and strengthening bilateral relations.
 
During the meeting, PM Dahal appreciated the Japanese support extended to Nepal and hoped that the bilateral ties would improve further, according to the PM’s press advisor Govinda Acharya.
 
Likewise, Dahal had requested the Japanese leader to continue supporting development projects in Nepal as the nation was heading toward stability and development.
 
The Japanese Minister on the other hand had congratulated Dahal for the Constitution promulgation and commended his role in its implemention, conclusion of the peace process and post-earthquake reconstruction.
 
Kishi also announced that a process had already begun to to extend a support of Rs 18 billion for the Kathmandu-Naubise tunnel.
 
The Japanese Minister is here since Tuesday on a three-day official visit.
 
Both Dahal and Kishi are scheduled to address a special function to be organised on Thursday to mark the 60th anniversary of establishment of Nepal-Japan bilateral ties.
 
Meanwhile, Kishi is scheduled to call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari today. RSS
