Kathmandu, Nepal, October 1, 2020: Nepal’s coronavirus tally reached to 79,728 after 1,911 new infections cases reported in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population (HoHP), of the newly recorded cases, 943 were from Kathmandu valley alone. 

According to the Ministry, of the newly recorded cases in Kathmandu valley, 817 new cases in Kathmandu, 58 in Bhaktapur and 68 in Lalitpur district.

This is the single day record high in Kathmandu valley. With the new addition, coronavirus tally reached to 24,903 in Kathmandu valley alone. 

Likewise, 961 people, who were infected earlier with the virus, have been discharged after recovery.  With the new addition, total recovery cases reached to 57,389.

As of today, there are 21,830 active cases of infection in the country while 5,077 people are under quarantine.

Similarly, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus reached to 509 after 11 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours, Dr. Jageshowr Gautam, spokesperson for the Ministry said during the regular virtual press briefing.
