Kathmandu, Nepal: Deepmala Dhakal, a representative of the second generation of the Non-Resident Nepali (NRN) community, has won the title of Miss Nepal World 2026, marking a significant achievement for Nepali youth living abroad and those seeking to maintain a connection with their ancestral identity.
Dhakal was crowned Miss Nepal World 2026 at the grand finale of Miss Nepal 2026, held at The Plaza, Pulchowk, Lalitpur. She emerged victorious among 24 contestants after impressing the judges with her confidence, personality, communication skills, and understanding of social issues.
The final competition featured six finalists, where Dhakal’s ability to present her perspectives effectively and demonstrate awareness of contemporary social concerns helped her secure the prestigious title.
The victory has placed Dhakal in the spotlight not only as a beauty pageant winner but also as a representative of a growing generation of Nepali-origin youths raised outside Nepal who continue to strengthen their ties with their homeland.
Dhakal currently serves as the coordinator for the second generation at the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA). She was elected to the position during NRNA’s unity general convention held last Chaitra, becoming part of the organization’s effort to provide institutional representation to younger generations of Nepalis living abroad.
NRNA introduced representation for the second generation in its structure for the first time with the aim of engaging Nepali-origin youths abroad in preserving Nepali language, culture, traditions, and social values while encouraging their participation in Nepal-related initiatives.
