Kathmandu, Nepal: Narendra Shrestha has been elected as the new President of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), the only governing body of the Nepalese football organizations on Monday.
 
Shrestha was declared victorious as had secured 36 votes while his rival Karma Tsering Sherpa got just 31 votes in the election held in Kathmandu. Shrestha was backed by the controversial former president Ganesh Thapa. 
 
Likewise, Mani Kunwar, from Shrestha panel, has been elected as vice-president. He secured 34 votes while his closest rival, from the Sherpa panel, Dipak Khati garnered just 25 votes. 
Another contestant of the post former football captain Upendra Man Singh received only 8 votes.
