Kathmandu, Nepal, August 1, 2022: Total of 895 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection have been recorded in the past 24 hours on Monday. With the addition, nationwide infection tally has advanced to 987228.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), altogether 895 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded while conducting 5,909 swab samples tests in the past 24 hours. 

It is said that 632 new cases were detected while conducting PCR tests while 263 new cases were detected while conducting antigen tests, states the MoHP. 

With the new updates, there are currently 5,275 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. 

Of the total active cases, 4,792 are in self-isolation, 142 in institutional isolation, 336 in ICUs and five on ventilators.

The death toll related to the COVID-19 has advanced to 11,968 with one death in the past 24 hours in the past 24 hours. 

Likewise, recovery tally of the country has advanced to 970326 with 264 people, who had got infected earlier with the virus, recovered in the past 24 hours.
