Kathmandu, Nepal, December 12, 2022: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index closed green by gaining 0.90 percent or 16.97 points to close at 1,902.28 points in the second trading day of the week on Monday. 

The NEPSE index opened at 1,884.22 points made intraday low 1,868.65 points before closing at 1,902.28, points, the intraday high points of the day.

A total of 4,470,625 shares of 245 scrips were exchanged to make Rs. 1.366 Arba as turnover amount via 22,993 transactions. This is higher turnover amount than the last trading day's turnover amount of Rs. 1.103 Arba.

Nabil Bank Limited (NABIL) made the highest turnover of Rs. 21.32 crores with market price of Rs. 815 per share while the shares of Kumari Bank Limited Promoter Share (KBLPO) traded the most.

NABIL has on Sunday proposed a 30 percent dividend worth Rs. 6.85 Arba for the fiscal year 2078/79. The meeting of the board of directors held on Sunday decided to distribute the dividend on the paid-up capital of Rs. 22.83 Arba. 

As per the decision, 18.50 percent bonus shares worth Rs 4.22 Arba and 11.5 percent cash dividend (including bonus shares tax purposes) worth Rs 2.61 Arba have been proposed to distribute its share holders. With the decision, NABIL has become highest dividend providing bank. It had provided 38 percent dividend including 33.6 bonus shares for the last fiscal year 2077/78.

Likewise, CYC Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (CYCL) and Summit Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SMFDB) gained the highest 10 percent each hitting a positive circuit.  

On the other hand, Global IME Balanced Fund-1 (GIBF1) lost by 9.93 percent. Out of the total 13 sector indices, only one the "Banking" sector indices closed red while remaining 12 other sector indices closed green. The banking sector indices lost by 0.58 percent. 

Meanwhile, Sunrise Bank Limited (SRBL) announces that it will not be distributing any dividends for the Fiscal Year 2078/79. The 404th Board Meeting of SRBL held on Sunday decided not to distribute any dividends for the Fiscal Year 2078/79.
