Kathmandu, Nepal, April 3, 2023: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has declined by 16.67 points, which is 0.88 in percent, and closed at 1,871.88 from the last trading day's closing on Monday.
The NEPSE index has continuously been declining since few days tough it is in downward trend since 18 months.
The NEPSE index had lost by 20.00 points on Sunday, the first trading day of the week, as well. Appointment of Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat as Finance Minister is not positively responded by the share market though he had vowed to address the concerns of the investors while assuming the posts.
Today the NEPSE index was opened at 1,888.61 points. The index made intraday high of 1,891.76 points and intraday low of 1,866.16 points before ultimately closing at 1,871.88 points.
A total of 2,829,426 shares amounting to Rs. 92.02 Crores in turnover amount were traded via 27,454 transactions and 260 scrips traded hands. Monday’s turnover amount is lower than the previous day’s turnover amount. Sunday’s turnover amount was Rs. 1.207 Arba.
Nabil Bank Ltd. (NABIL) had the highest turnover of Rs. 3.62 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 589.9 per share while the shares of Global IME Bank Limited ( GBIME ) traded the most.
Likewise, Kalinchowk Darshan Limited (KDL) gained the highest by 10 percent and hit the positive circuit while the 8.5 percent Prabhu Bank Debenture 2087 (PBLD87) lost all 10 percent.
Of the total sector indices, only the Trading sector indices gained by 1.21 percent while other all 12 sector indices closed red. Hydropower sector indices lost the highest by 1.30 percent.
