Kathmandu, Nepal, August 29, 2022: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index gained 3.76 points or 0.19 percent and close at 1,993.02 points in the second trading day of the week on Monday. 


Following the decreasing trend, the NEPSE index had lost 33.36 on Sunday, points in the first trading day of the week. 

The NEPSE index opened at 1,989.36 points made intraday low at 1,975.07 points and intraday high at 1,995.78 points before closing at 1,993.02 points.

A total of 3,440,900 shares amounting to Rs. 1.266 Arba in the turnover amount were traded via 222 scrips and 26,046 transactions. 

The turnover amount is lower than the yesterday’s turnover amount.  Sunday's turnover amount was Rs. 2.059 Arba.

Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) had the highest turnover of Rs. 11.25 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 910 per share while the shares Himal Dolakha Hydropower Company Limited (HDHPC) traded the most.
 
Meanwhile, Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (WNLB) gained the highest by 7.48 percent while the Ru Ru Jalbidhyut Pariyojana Limited (RURU) lost the highest 5.70 percent.

Of the total 13 sector indices, nine sector indices closed green while remaining four remain red, Finance sector indices gained the highest by 1.89 percent while Mutual Fund sector indices lost the highest by 1.12 percent.
