Kathmandu, Nepal, September 20, 2021: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index massively plunged in the first trading day of the week on Monday. As NEPSE has come down below the 2700 marks after four months period, all the secondary market investors have remained panic.
After losing 114.02 points from last week's closing, the market closed at 2,698.24 points. On the last trading day on Thursday he NEPSE had also lost 76.25 points. NEPSE has been declining after the Nepal Rastra Bank released the monitory policy capping on the loan amounts.
The NEPSE index that was opened at 2,817.98 points had made the intraday high at 2,818.49 points while intraday low as 2,698.24 points before closing at 2,698.24 points.
During the four hours long trading hours, a total of 17,330,538 shares were exchanged amounting to Rs. 8.493 Arba in the turnover amount.
Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC) has made the highest turnover of Rs. 40.65 crores. Its shares also traded the most on Monday. The market price of AHPC was Rs. 601 per share.
Likewise, Manakamana Smart Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MKLB) gained the most 9.99 percent.
Almost all the sectors have remained red. Finance sector becomes to loss the most. It lost 8.56 percent. The life insurance group has declined the most by 800 points.
Similarly, the non-life insurance sector declined by 614 points while development bank group decline by 332 points. Hydropower sector decline by 220 points while hotel and tourism sectors decline by 158 points.
