Kathmandu, Nepal, June 20, 2022: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has declined by 2.55 percent on Monday. With the massive decline, the NEPSE index has closed at 1,884.81 points after losing 49.31 points from Sunday's closing. 


The NEPSE has been declining since few months due to some restrictive policies formulated by the regulatory agencies, particularly the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the central bank of Nepal. 

The NEPSE index had lost by 37.27 points on the first trading day of the week on Sunday as well. The NEPSE is in bearish trend since one year making panic to the investors in the secondary market.  

The NEPSE index that was opened at 1,934.03 points made intraday high at 1,934.64 points while intraday low at 1,879.69 pints before closing at 1,884.81 points.

A total of 6,186,941 shares were exchanged to make Rs. 1.750 Arba as turnover amount. The turnover amount of Monday is significantly higher than Sunday’s turnover of Rs. 1.134 Arba.

Adhikhola Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (AKBSL) gained highest by 10 percent and hit a positive circuit while the Terhathum Power Company Limited (TPC) lost lowest points by 10 percent negative circuit.

Prabhu Bank Limited Promoter Share (PRVUPO) shares were traded the most with highest turnover of Rs. 11.82 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 145 per share.

All the 13 sector indices closed red. Hydropower sector indices lost the highest by 4.28 percent while Trading sector indices lost the least by 1.44 percent.
