Kathmandu, Nepal: Even though the constitution amendment bill was not passed from the parliament, the agitating Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN) has ‘decided’ to participate in the upcoming elections.

The party has yet to take formal decision regarding the participation in the elections, but the leaders of the party have said that a meeting called for Tuesday will make a decision regarding their participation in the elections.

However, the RJPN leaders have claimed that their struggle will be continued even if they participate in the elections.

The RJPN had been denying participating in the elections demanding revision in the constitutional provisions on citizenship, language, representation in the upper house and re-demarcation of the federal boundaries.

The constitution amendment bill tabled by the government was collapsed on Monday after lawmakers from the main opposition party CPN UML and the fourth largest party Rastriya Prajatantra Party led by Kamal Thapa refused to vote in favor of the bill.
