Kathmandu, Nepal, March 29, 2022: All the political parties registered in the Election Commission (EC) of Nepal for the purpose of contesting local level elections scheduled for coming May 13 will get their own election symbol.
Election symbols of the concerned political parties would be given to all the political no matter whether they were nationally recognized or not, the EC has said.
The EC has made the decision by changing on the previous provision that political parties except for the nationally recognized had to contest the elections from the Independent category.
Of the total 73 political parties registered at the EC for the local level polls, only six parties are nationally recognized.
