Biratnagar, Nepal, June 1, 2023: At least one person has died and 25 others people have gone missing due to floods and landslides occurred since last night followed by torrential rainfall in various places of eastern Nepal.
According to reports, 16 Hydropower construction workers working at Super Hewakhola Hydropower have gobe missing due to the flood that occurred last night in Hewakhela of Sankhuwasabha. According to the police, a body of missing person has been found. However, details about the deceased is yet to ascertained.
Similarly, five people have gone missing due to the floods and landslides that occurred since last night in various places of Panchthar district. According to the police, the workers working in the Hewa-1 hydropower project have gone missing.
Similarly, four persons have gone missing in Sidingwa rural municipality of Taplejung district. The missing persons have been identified as Yadav Budhathoki's wife Bhagimaya, daughter-in-law Sandhya and grandson Prajjwal.
