Kathmandu, Nepal, April 23, 2023: Voting for the by-elections in three constituencies of Chitwan 2, Bara 2 and Tanahu 1 is being held on peacefully on Monday. 

By-elections are going held after the posts of House of Representatives (HoR) representatives members elected from these constituencies remained vacant.

Chitwan remained vacant after Ravi Lamichhane's citizenship was revoked by the Supreme Court while elected HoR member Ramchandra Paudel from Tanahun 2 and Ramsahaya Yadav from Bara 2 elected as president and vice president respectively.

In Chitwan Region No. 2, Nepali Congress candidate Jit Narayan Shrestha voted from Chaturmukhi High Mavi Shaktikhor while Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Ravi Lamichhane and CPN-UML candidate Ram Prasad Neupane could not vote there because their names were not in the voters' list.

Similarly, in the by-elections being held in Bara 2, the candidates JSP Nepal candidate Upendra Yadav, Purushottam Paudel of CPN-UML and Ramesh Kharel of Rashtriya Swatantra Party could not vote because their names were not in the voter list.

Similarly, in Tanahun, Rashtriya Swatantra Party’s candidate Swarnim Wagh could not vote because his name was also not in the voter's list.
