Kathmandu, Nepal, July 21, 2021: The CPN-UML has handed over the letter to the 22 lawmakers asking clarifications for casting vote to the Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s vote of confidence proposal in the parliament on Sunday.
The letter dated on 20 July, 2021 was handed over on Wednesday afternoon at the time when the standing committee meeting of the Madhav Kumar Nepal led faction of the UML was underway at New Baneshowr, Kathmandu.
A standing committee meeting of the UML led by Oli led faction held on Tuesday decided to seek clarifications to those lawmakers who had casted vote to the Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) President Deuba’s vote of confidence proposal in the parliament on Sunday.
A total of 22 lawmakers from the CPN UML including eight from the Oli led camp had casted vote to the Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) President Deuba’s vote of confidence proposal even though they were directed to cast vote against of the proposal.
It is said that the Nepal led faction held discussions over the clarifications letter even though the faction had already decided not to submit the clarifications but to file contempt of court case against the party leadership for violating the verdict passed by the Supreme Court.
