Kathmandu, Nepal: Finally, the Nepal government has submitted documents related to appointment of Lok Man Singh Karki as the Chief of Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).
 
The office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers sent the files to the SC on Friday. Earlier the office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers had written to the apex court stating that the papers related to the appointment of Karki as the CIAA chief could not be found.
 
As Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers had stated that the documents related to the appointment of Karki would have misplaced while shifting the office after the April 25, 2015 earthquake, social media had been criticizing the government for the humorous claim.
 
Following to the footstep of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Ministry of General Administration (MoGA) had also sent similar nature of letter to the apex court stating that the file related to the action taken against Karki, while he was the Chief Secretary, was also missing and immediately could not be found out. 
 
As the commission formed to investigate about the popular movement had indicated Karki for involving in the suppressing the Janaandolan II in 2006, the case filed in the apex court has a claim that Karki is not eligible to be appointed as the Chief Commissioner of the CIAA. 
 
Responding to the letter of the government, a division bench of Chief Justice Sushila Karki, Justice Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha and Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla had told the government to submit the files related to the appointment of Karki within a week. 
 
The bench had also warned of action to the concerned government authorities upon failure to comply with the order.
 
Responding to a case filed by advocate Om Prakash Aryal, the apex court has decided to review the, already quashed case related to the appointment of Karki as the chief commissioner of the CIAA. The Apex court had quashed the writ about two years ago.
