KATHMANDU, NEPAL: Five political parties and four lawmakers have registered separate amendment proposal on the constitution amendment bill on Sunday.
Subodh Kumar Pokharel of Madhesi People's Right Forum - Democratic (MPRF-D) led by Bijay Kumar Gachchhedar, Gopal Dahit of Tharuhat Tarai Party, Rukmini Chaudhary of Sanghiya Loktantrik Rastriya Manch (Tharuhat), Yashoda Kumari Lama of Dalit Janajati Party Nepal and Ram Kumar Rai of Khumbuwan Rastriya Morcha registered an amendment proposal at the Parliament Secretariat demanding eight provinces.
In the proposal new province comprising Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Udayapur, Saptari and Siraha districts is demanded. Likewise, the proposal, they have demanded to remove Kailali and Kanchanpur districts from the Province 7 and include them on the Province 5 without the hill districts.
Likewise, four lawmakers- one from the CPN Maoist Center’s Top Bahadur Rayamajhi and three from Nepali Congress Amar Singh Pun, Chandra Bhandari and Dhanaraj Gurung also registered another separate proposal to make change on the constitution amendment bill.
The four lawmakers from ruling parties had been voicing against the provision on the bill to remove hill districts from Province 5.
