Kathmandu, Nepal: The government has on Sunday formed a commission to investigate into the causes behind the Summit Air aircraft crash at Tenjing Hilary Airport in Lukla of Solukhumbu district on Saturday afternoon.
A five-member commission is formed under the leadership of Triratna Manandhar, former director general of Nepal Civil Aviation Authority. Captain Aashish Nar Singh Rana, colonel of Nepal Army, Tara Air's Senior Captain Bodhraj Niraula and Manang Air's Senior Engineer Digambar Rajbhandari are included as the members of the commission.
Likewise, Joint Secretary at the ministry of the tourism and civil aviation, Suresh Acharya is assigned as member secretary of the commission.
In the crash Captain Paras Kumar Rai and Co-pilot Srijan Manandhar had died. Airhostess Prgya Maharjan is receiving treatment at Kathmandu based Grande Hospital.
