Kathmandu, Nepal, April 19, 2022: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is going to establish its residential office in Nepal. IMF had closed its Nepal based residential office about 12 years ago citing financial problems.

With the decision to establish its residential office in Nepal, the IMF has appointed Teresa Daban Sanchez as its resident representative for Nepal.

In the absence of residential office in Nepal, the Delhi-based office of the IMF had been looking after the affairs of Nepal including India and Maldives.

The IMF has recently approved loans of US $ 398.50 million under Extended Credit Facility to Nepal.
