Kathmandu, Nepal: District Election Office, Chitwan has on Thursday withdrawn the nomination of Dinesh Koirala as the mayoral candidate of Bharatpur Metropolitan City from the Nepali Congress (NC).

 
District Election Office, Chitwan has made the decision referring to the letter from the party President Sher Bahadur Deuba, which states that the party decided to withdraw the nomination of Koirala as the mayoral candidate of Bharatpur Metropolitan City from NC.
 
Party president had issue a statement on Thursday afternoon just to inform that the candidacy of Koirala for mayor is withdrawn. It is said that Party president was compelled to issues the press release after Koirala denied to withdraw his candidacy.
 
The NC has made the decision at the mean time when the mayoral candidate of Bharatpur Metropolitan City from the Nepali Congress Koirala was busy in their election campaign.
 
As Bharatpur Metropolitan City is considered as the stronghold of the Nepali Congress, not only the candidate Koirala but also the leaders and cadres of the metropolitan city have protested the party decision claiming that the decision was not in favor of the party.
