Tamghas,Gulmi, Nepal:Protesting the constitution amendment proposal registered in the parliament, local people in the province number five, particularly in the hill districts of the province, have launched demonstration demanding immediate withdrawal of the proposal.
The leaders from all the political parties including the government allies- Nepali Congress and CPN Maoist Center have led the demonstration. The local people of Palpa, Gulmi, Pyuthan, Arghakhachi, Rolpa and Rukum have protested the government’s constitution amendment proposal that has proposed to separate these hills districts from the Terai.
The government has registered a seven-point constitution amendment bill at the parliament secretariat on Tuesday evening splitting six Terai districts namely some parts of Nawalparasi (west of Susta Bardaghat), Rupandehi, Kapilbastu, Dang, Banke and Bardiya from the hill districts - Palpa, Arghakhanchi, Gulmi, Rukum, Rolpa and Pyuthan.
The separated hill districts are proposed to include in the province number four while remaining Teria districts will remain in the province number five.
