Kathmandu, October 6, 2020: The main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC) has slammed the government for its poor handling of the coronavirus (COV- ID-19) pandemic.

Issuing a press statement on Monday, NC’s Joint General Secretary Prakash Sharan Mahat, who is also the head of the party’s Coronavirus Monitoring Committee, slammed the government for its poor handling of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.
There are far less than what the government could have done to contain the spread of coronavirus, states the press statement further adding that the government’s efforts to contain the coronavirus pandemic left much to be desired.

The government has failed even making arrangements to isolate coronavirus infected people, trace contacts of coronavirus patients, conduct more tests and arrange more isolation beds, reads the statement. 

The main opposition Nepali Congress has alleged the government for poor handling the coronavirus pandemic at the time when coronavirus infections cases have drastically been increasing across the country, particularly in the Kathmandu valley triggering a fear that the capital city of the country would turn into a hotspot for coronavirus infections. 

He has also urged the government to arrange isolation and quarantine facilities to those coronavirus infected people living in rented rooms in Kathmandu Valley. As coronavirus patients cannot manage self-isolate in the rented rooms in Kathmandu valley, the government has to manage isolation centers immediate, states the statement.
