Kathmandu, Nepal, December 12, 2020: Coronavirus infection tally of the country has reached to 247,593 after 899 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours.
Of the total newly infected cases, 352 are females while 547 are males. Kathmandu valley alone witnessed 482 cases in the past 24 hours.
Likewise, 1,359 people, who were earlier infected with the virus, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. With the addition, total recovery tally of the country has reached to 234,231.
There are only 11,673 active cases throughout the country. Of them, 519 individuals are staying in various quarantine facilities across the country.
Meanwhile, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus has advanced to 1,689 after 15 more fatalities related to the virus reported in the past 24 hours.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population ( MoHP), 899 cases were were confirmed while conducting 5,242 PCR tests in different labs across the country in the last 24 hours. So far, Nepal government has conducted 1,825,860 PCR tests.
