Kathmandu, Nepal, July 13, 2021: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has been appointed as Prime Minister of the country for the fifth time on Tuesday.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari appointed Nepali Congress President Deuba, who is also the Parliamentary Party leader of the Nepali Congress, as Prime Minister on Thursday.
President Bhandari appointed Deuba as Prime Minister in accordance with the verdict passed by the Supreme Court (SC) on Monday, states a press release issued by the office of the President.
The Supreme Court had on Monday issued a verdict ordering the office of the president to appoint Deuba as Prime Minister by 5:00 pm on Thursday.
Swearing-in ceremony is being held at Sheetal Niwas at 6:00 pm today.
It has also been learnt that at least four ministers- two from the Nepali Congress and two from the CPN (Maoist Center)- would also be administered oath of office and secrecy at the same function today.
