Kathmandu, Nepal: The Parliamentary Special Hearing Committee (PSHC) has begun hearing process over the 12 individuals recommended by the government for the post of ambassadors in different countries.
A PSHC meeting held today decided issue 10-day notice seeking written protests and complaints on the individuals recommended for Nepali ambassadors to 12 countries.
Though the government had recommended 14 individuals to the post of ambassadors in 14 countries on February 20, the hearing process has begun just over the 12 persons after the government withdrawn the names of Sharmila Parajuli, who was recommended for Oman and Aasha Lama, who was recommended for the United Arab Emirates.
As Parajuli and Lama are running manpower agencies, their names were dragged into controversies alleging them of cheating and swindling the migrant work aspirants.
The government had recommended Yuba Nath Lamsal for Denmark, Lucky Sherpa for Australia, Mahendra Bahadur Singh for Saudi Arabia, Padam Sundas for Bahrain, Arjun Jung Bahadur Singh for South Korea, Bhim Udas for Myanmar, Dr Choplal Bhusal for Bangladesh, Bishwambher Pyakuryal for Sri Lanka, Ramesh Prasad Koirala for Qatar, Pratibha Rana for Japan, Bharat Rayamajhi for Spain and Niranjan Thapa for Israel.
