Kathmandu, Nepal, April 25, 2022: The seventh memorial day of the Gorkha earthquake has been observed across the country with various programs on Monday. On 25 April, 2015, a 7.6 magnitude earthquake hit the country with its epicenter in Barpak are of the Gorkha district.
The earthquake had claimed the lives of about 9,000 people and injured over 22,000 others. Likewise, 800,000 private houses and 1500 cultural heritages were damaged due to the earthquake.
Various districts, mainly the Gorkha, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Kavrepalanchok, Sindhupalchok, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Nuwakot, Dhading, Rasuwa, Makawanpur, Sindhuli and Okhaldhunga were badly affected due to the earthquake.
