Kathmandu, Nepal, July 28, 2024: The Supreme Court has sentenced former minister Govinda Raj Joshi to nine months in prison and a fine of Rs 6.9 million for corruption.
The division bench of Supreme Court Justices Binod Sharma and Bal Krishna Dhakal issued the verdict on Sunday overturning a previous verdict of the Supreme Court to sentence of one and a half years.
Joshi had moved to the Supreme Court after the Special Court convicted him in the corruption charge.
