Kathmandu, Nepal: As the talks between the government team and the team formed on behalf of senior professor at the Institute of Medicine (IoM) Dr. Govinda KC bear no fruits on Sunday, talks is being continued on Monday as well.
The government’s talk team headed by Shanta Bahadur Shrestha, secretary at the Ministry of Education, and Dr Senendra Raj Uprety, secretary at the Ministry of Health and the team formed on behalf of Dr KC under the leadership of Dr Jivan Kshetry, which includes Dr Leison Maharjan, Dr YP Singh, Dr Ranjan Sapkota and Dr Sagar Pokhrel held talks about six hours on Sunday.
But, the talks bear no fruit after government team did not agreed on the demands forwarded by Dr. KC including the demand of resignation of the vice-chancellor of Tribhuvan University and the IoM dean.
Though the condition of Dr KC is worsening day by day, the government team has been insisting that they are not in position to address the demands put forth by Dr. KC.
Dr. KC’s hunger strike has entered on 16th day on Monday. This is 10th fast-unto-death strike of Dr. KC demanding reform in the medical sector.
