Kathmandu, Nepal: The agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) has backtracked from its earlier decision to withdraw support to the incumbent government.
A meeting of the UDMF leaders held on Tuesday at the central office of the Federal Socialist Forum Nepal has given a seven-day ultimatum to the government to address all its demands related to the constitution amendment within the given deadline.
The meeting has reached on the conclusion that the UDMF would withdraw its support to the government if their demands were not addressed in the next seven days.
A meeting of the UDMF held on Monday followed by the Saptari incident where three cadres had lost their lives and dozens injured had decided that the decision to withdraw the support to the government will be sent to the Speaker Onsari Gharti by Tuesday.
The meeting also urged the government to provide reparation to the families of the deceased and make necessary arrangements for the treatment of the injured.
