Kathmandu, Nepal: The main opposition CPN-UML has formed two separate committees targeting to the upcoming local level election slated for coming May 14.
A committee has been formed under the leadership of its vice chairman Bamdev Gautal for drafting the local level election manifesto. Similarly, another Local Level Election Monitoring and Coordination Committee are formed under the leadership of party’s General secretary Ishowr Pokhrel.
Party’s Standing Committee meeting held on Monday made the decision to form the committees. Likewise, the meeting has also discussed about the party’s future strategy to win the elections in the local level.
In the Vice-Chairman Gautam led committee, Ashtalaxmi Shakya, Bhim Rawal, Bishnu Paudel, Ghanashyam Bhusal, Pradeep Gyawali, Shankar Pokharel, Surendra Pandey, Kiran Gurung, Pushpa Kandel, Lalbabu Pandit, Binda Pandey, Radindra Adhikari, Raghubir Mahaseth and Lalbabu Yadav are included as the members.
In the General Secretary Pokharel led committee, Prithvi Subba Gurung, Pradeep Gyawali, Yogesh Bhattarai, Subas Chandra Nembang, Chhabilal Bishwakarma, Beduram Bhusal, Rajendra Prasad Pandey, Raghuji Panta, Bhanubhakta Dhakal, Agni Kharel, Banshidhar Mishra, Radha Gyawali, Krishna Gopal Shrestha and Ram Kumari Jhankri are named as the members.
Similarly the meeting has also decided to direct all the ward committees to recommend candidates for wards and rural municipal, municipal, sub-metropolitan and metropolitan level committees to recommend candidates for the same levels by April 17.
Likewise, the district committees of the party are authorized to study the recommendations and forward them to the center.
