Nuwakot, Nepal: veteran leaders of the Nepali Congress- Arjun Narsingh KC and Dr. Ram Saran Mahat have been defeated from Nuwakot constituency number 2 and 1 respectively. 
 
KC lost the elections by more than 10,000 votes to Narayan Prasad Khatiwadaa, CPN-UML’s district chairman. Khatiwada garnered 36,892 votes while KC garnered just 26,335 votes.  
 
Hit Bahadur Tamang,  CPN Maoist Centre leader and left alliance candidate, defeated former Finance Minister and Nepali Congress  leader Ram Sharan Mahat  with a wide margin of 8,553 votes.  Tamang received 36,473 votes while Dr. Mahat garnered 27,920 votes.
 
Likewise, the candidates from the leftist alliance have also won the elections for provincial assemblies. In Province 2 A, Keshab Raj Pandey of UML defeated NC’s Jagdishwar Narsingh KC with a wide margin of 7,280 votes. 
 
Likewise, in province B CPN-Maoist Center’s candidate Harinath Khatiwada defeated NC’s Jagat Tamang. 
 
In Province 1A Radhika Tamang of CPN-Maoist Center won the elections while in B Badri Mainali of UML won the elections.
