Kathmandu, Nepal: Election Commission (EC) has said that vote counting has begun in 129 local units out of the total 281 local units, where elections were held as part of first phase of local level elections on Sunday.
EC Spokesperson Surya Prasad Sharma has said that election returning officers of the respective polling centers are counting votes by bringing ballot boxes from various polling centers.
The EC has given emphasis to collect the ballot boxes as soon as possible even using helicopters for airlifting the ballot boxes from mountainous districts, EC spokesperson Sharma said.
